The half-marathon article for the next Winning Times has been written, I will put up a link as soon as its printed.
Website updates still ongoing…I have begun planning for some new vidoes to go up - will feature my training sessions and some interviews with current clients.
Commiserations to Dave Fuge, one our very own team members at Winners2000, who was up for a second attempt at getting through to the NPA finals - he came in fourth and I have a feeling he was robbed!
Its not all bad, he still has the best arms out of any of us at Winners2000!
Hopefully he will put it down to experience, get back to training and come back even bigger and better next year.
Firstly I have congratulate every member of the gym who took part, as they all did fantastically well and gave 100%.
It was a beautiful, if blustery, day at Paignton. The event was well run and well attended.
A great event for anyone and everyone to get involved in, there was even a 1 mile fun run attended by families, toddlers and even pets!
The standard of competition in the half marathon itself was outstanding, the pace of some of the runners weas phenomenal. The race winner, Toby Lambert ran a time of 1hr 7mins!
Our members did themselves though with Paul Duffield, Anthony Hirst, George and Lorraine Barbour, Rebbeca Refern, Clare Steer, John Ariss, Mark Dodge, Clare Williams, Tom Sizer and Kelly Allen all taking part.
Hopefully we can get even more members to run it next year, also I would like to see some Junior Lions running the fun run too!
Having a very busy month at the moment - both in work and in my personal life.
Got the Torbay half marathon next Sunday - orgainising 7 of our gym members who are running it, looking forward to seeing how well they do!
My clients are all doing well - making great gains and improvements everytime I see them. Have got Peter Campbell, Mark Jenkins and Victoria Barbour tomorrow. All will be pushed in their own way - Pete can expect another gruelling session, but thats what he wants from our sessions!
Currently at the gym we are offering 14 day trial passes to our current members friends and family, which will keep me busy with looking after new members and starting some new clients on their way to a better body, a better state of health and a better quality of life.
Helen is now back from Macedonia - and by the sounds of it lucky to be alive!
Simon has described it as being in a war zone with riots outside the hotel during the night!
But she did well and made it to the top ten, unfortunately she was cast aside for Female Beef - i.e. very large and muscular competitors, some of whom Simon swears had a beard.
Looking forward to seeing this - don’t think it uncover any shocking secrets about who uses them, but at least it will put forward the question of why we still seem to worship those who do use them.
Spent Sunday in London with Hannah, Simon, John and Dean as Hannah was competing in the Bodyfitness (Figure) category.
Hannah did well, came second and secured her place in the finals at Nottingham in October.
I have to say this was my first experience of a ‘proper’ bodybuilding show and I was not impressed. Totally disorganised, especially with the music for the competitors posing routines - I think nearly half of them either posed to no music or someone elses. Ridiculous.
There where some interesting entrants, one of which looked like a total non-trainer plucked off the streets - which although was funny to watch, undermined all the hard work the other competitors put in, year round, to get ready to compete.
Hannah looked awesome in her category - losing to girl who seemed to prefer wiggling and sticking out her ass to actually posing. But she did well, got what she wanted (a place in final) - now she just needs to be that confident, powerful woman we all know and outshine the others in Nottingham.
We also saw Dorian Yates at the show - selling his own supplements and other bits and pieces. Was a shame to see him looking haggard, paying his taxes on a hard life.
