Tony Baillie
Fighting bad habits and getting back into the saddle

I have been working with Tony since September 2007.
At our first meeting I could see Tony was desperate to get his health and more importantly his life back. He weighed in at 14st 9.4lb, was desperately unhappy with his body and state of health - in his own words "I felt like I was doing a marathon by getting out of the chair".
Tony has passion for cycling mountain bikes - but in his current state of health it would have literally killed him to go on a bike ride. His blood pressure was through the roof and he had almost no energy for anything active.
With Tony the first stage was to tackle his bad eating habits (takeways and chocolate), improve his Cardio Vascular health and pull him away from an early grave.

With dedication and an iron resolve, Tony overcame a lifestyle full of bad habits and has managed to get his weight down to 12st 10lb so far. His blood pressure and resting heart rate are now excellent.
But the biggest satisfaction, for both me and Tony, is that he has now taken his cycling back up - regurlarly riding 40-50 miles in a single session!
Tonys side of the story so far...
I first met Brian in September 2007, at that point my life was bit of a mess.
I was attending a clinic run by local doctor's surgery for patients suffering with chronic illness. I wasnt suffering from a chronic illness as such, bit my poor diet and lack of exercise had raised my blood pressure and pulse to a level where I was a potential candidate for either a stroke or worse, a heart attack.
As a part of my job as a foot health practioner, I spend my days working with patients that are diagnosed as high risk. I wasn't a very good example to them at that point. I decided I needed to make some serious lifestyle changes, otherwise I may not be around to see my children grow up.
The wisest decision I have ever made was the day I plucked up the courage to book an appointment with Brian.
It is not easy to admit that you have a reached a point where you have lost control of your diet, your body, yourself. It feels as though your are to unfit to even think about exercise.
At our first meeting, Brian sat and asked me lots of questions about my present stae of health, diet and what I wanted to achieve.
He then agreed that despite my lack of fitness and poor diet, he could devise an exercise and diet plan that would help me achieve the goals we had discussed, and most importanly be safe for me.
In the short time that I have been training with Brian, he has totally changed my life. Not only did he work hard to devise a training programme that would challenge me, but more importantly keep me focused and get the results I wanted. This also included a diet plan tailored to my requirements, that was easy to stick to and fitted in with my lifestyle.
So far, I have seen a weight loss of over two stone. My fitness and strength have both increased and I have been able to enjoy cycling again.
One of the other benefits is that I no longer attend a clinic for patients with chronic illnesses, I'm taking no medication and my blood pressure and heart rate are compareable with a man half my age.

Without wishing to sound too over dramatic, I truly belive that without making that first appointment with Brian, my life expectancy would have been greatly shortened and I was well along the road to my first heart attack or stroke.
My advice to anyone is dont wait until the damage is done, make that change now and book an appointment with Brian and see him help you to change your life.
