Mark Jenkins

Kicking the habit and getting some size

Spotting Mark on his Barbell curls

I have been working with Mark since October 2007.

When he first started training he had never been to a gym before, let alone been there and actually worked out.

It was clear that from the outset Mark really wanted to get some size on to give him confidence in himself. His initial programme was designed to get his base level of fitness up enough to let him train at the level to do this; and coming from smoking 40 a day, we had a lot of work to do.

But Mark has stuck with it and is now getting some great gains, with muscles he never even knew he had begining to take shape and grow.

Mark's side of the story so far...

Working arms again

It was October 2007 that I first took those daunting steps into Winners 2000 and was meet by Brian (White Tiger).

Until that moment I had never been near a gym in my life, let alone exercised…….I spent 5 years at school forging notes….anything to get out of P.E !! If I ever went to the beach I would usually leave my t shirt on, I was too embarrassed to take it off, I used to look at myself in the mirror and hate what I saw. I just assumed that I had no choice, I had often thought about joining a gym but assumed that it wouldn’t work for me, after all only fit people go to the gym.

I’d spent my entire life avoiding exercise...

The first three months the progress seemed a bit slow. I started to notice my posture changing and my chest was getting slightly bigger, small lumps started to appear on my upper arms, That was all I needed to spur me on and I started to make more of an effort with my diet.

Until then I was disappointed that despite eating more regular balanced meals I still weighed just 9st 7lb, but in the last 3 ½ months I’ve gained over 7lb but still retained my 32” waist. I’m determined to gain another 7lb over the next 3 months and am looking forward to taking my t shirt off on the beach this summer !!!

Why didn’t I do this years a go...It was so easy….ish !!!!

Brian and Mark

I couldn’t have done it without Brian, I train with him 3 times a week and despite having a few strange eating habits, he devised a diet plan that suits me perfectly, and being a 48 year old heavy smoker that had never exercised; he’s careful that my exercise routine doesn’t put too much strain on my heart and lungs.

If there's anyone out there thinking about it….my advice is just do it...give Brian a call.
